[K-POP COSTUME REVIEW] [OLD] T-ara Day by Day

So, Since this is being released in more than one part I’m going to do them as they come, and today I’m only going to be reviewing the costumes worn in the 1st part of the story (does that make sense?). 

I’m going to ignore the end parts (the teaser for the next release) and what Eunjung and other members are wearing (OMG but I’m so excited the next part looks soo good!)

Firstly, I’d like to say this is the first MV in a while I have been really emotionally attached to (like, as in, more attached than OMG EVERYONE’S SO PRETTY OMG A BUNNY OMG HIS MOUTH IS SO SENSUAL), perhaps MBLAQ’s It’s War was the last where I was like ‘omo omo what’s happening’ all the way through. But the last MV that made me feel this intense drama was probably Bang Yong Guk’s I Remember (which is still one of my all time favourite MV’s, I don’t think I’ve watched it without crying; it’s just stunning). Therefore I LOVE IT and I LOVE THE CONCEPT AND THE COSTUMES!

I know I say I love everything I watch but I really do love this, if there’s one thing T-ara does successfully it’s music video dramas. I know some people say they’re lengthy and whatever but I love them, they always put the songs in context and they bring another creative output to the band (as opposed to say, SJ where the MV is just the band + the song). Think about how many people are involved in making this and how much creativity is in this, this is another medium in which T-ara and the production team exercise their creativity.

So I’m going to try not to talk about the plot or anything beyond basic stuff, the story isn’t complete and I don’t want to get into all that.

So, our first glimpse of any outfit is new member Dani wearing this;

She looks very nice.

Hyomin is wearing a Lara Croft outfit, with a vest tee, short shorts and knee length boots, she’s the active character in this part of the MV, she’s the one who’s doing the protecting and it’s her in the action scenes so it makes sense really, as opposed to Jiyeon’s character who does a lot of strutting and generally being mean. 

But what I’d really like to talk about is this

Jiyeon plays some kind of evil war overlord who for whatever reason is trying to find Dani. Now, I love Jiyeon anyway but she looks so good. And she’s pulling off the evil act so well here (I’m like ‘Jiyeon-ah, wae so mean’ T.T). This leather outfit with the shoulder pieces is a personal favourite. Aggressive, angular, sexy…/drooling

A little later she’s at it again in this gorgeous ensemble. There’s less going on than in the other outfit, since she’s off on another mission. This outfit is centred around some kind of red jumpsuit with a shiny patent buckled jacket over the top, I love the sleeves of this jacket, they’re not so suggestive as the first jacket she wore but they’re still sharp and angular. My god she looks good

To say I love this concept would be an understatement. It’s dark, punky, grungy, sexy, fierce, dirty, industrial, dramatic.

I just love it ok
